5 Reasons Why at 25 I Love "The Land Before Time" More Than I Did When I Was 6

As a kid "The Land Before Time" was always a go to among my siblings and I. For that matter, it was one of the few movies we didn't fight (much) about and it was always welcome to them as it gave them a break from "Free Willy". Now at 25 looking back at how much I loved it then, I realize I like it even more now. Some of the reasons remain the same, some have changed. Here are 5 of the reasons I love it now.


1.  How Adorable is Ducky?

Just look at that face, and her voice just melts your little (or 25 year old) heart. No matter how old you are, everyone needs a friend like Ducky. You don't find that kind of friendship just anywhere.

2. Try, try and try again.

I can't count the times I've felt like Petrie when he was learning to fly. Sometimes you just want to give up, but if you fall down you just have to get right back up and try again. And once you get that first thing, theres no knowing what you could do next.

3. Teamwork makes the dream work.

This bunch faced every obstacle possible on their journey but they made it to the great valley, because they stuck it out and worked together. They didn't always like each other and some were quite stubborn but they did it. Now, if we could all learn from them we'd be golden.

4. The end makes the journey worth it.

There is nothing quite like that feeling you get when you finally see what you've been working towards and all the bad things that have happened wash away. "The Land Before Time" captures that moment beautifully.


5. No matter what you look like you can all be friends.

No one embodies this more than kids, they will walk up to any other student on the playground and want to be their friend. It is the same with this movie, with so many forces pushing them apart they find their way together and become family. We need more of this nowadays.
